LightSpeed™
Endodontic ShapingNiTi instruments
LightSpeed instruments feature considerably shortened working length of between just 0.25 to 1.75mm, depending on the size of the instrument. The existing range covers sizes from 20-160. This enables optimal preparation of the root canal at the apex. The constant optimal speed is within the range between 750-2500 rpm and is thus considerably higher than for all other rotating NiTi instruments.
The instrument tip consists of a Batt tip, a U-shaped crosssection and wide lateral guide surfaces. As instrument size increases, the working length becomes longer and the pitch of the Batt tip smaller. The cutting surfaces form a neutral angle to the canal wall. The long, slim shaft of the instrument guarantees a high level of flexibility, even for files with larger diameters.
Due to their special design, every LightSpeed file has only marginal contact with the canal wall, reducing friction in the canal considerably. Initial preparation is at working length and then finished by applying the step-back technique to increase the taper.
For further processing we recommend SimpliFill for filling the root canal and our TF Adaptive Element motor, where the speed is pre-set to LightSpeed.
