SonicFill™ 3
CompositesSingleFill™ Composite System
Introducing the new, advanced SonicFill 3 SingleFill™ Composite System. It’s the industry’s first sonic-activated bulk fill composite system that helps you craft quality restorations with greater ease and speed compared to an incremental layering technique.
New SonicFill™ 3 is the first Sonic Activated bulkfill composite that acts as a flowable in terms of adaptation and quick placement, but also as a sculptable composite when it comes to carving and contouring.
Achieve long-lasting restorations in one efficient step.
BENEFITS
- 5mm depth of cure with SingleFill Composite System
- Improved adaptation to the internal walls and restoration margins
- Better non-sticky handling
- Simpler to extrude during placement
- Low shrinkage stress for lasting marginal integrity
The best benefits of both a flowable and sculptable composite in one.
First class posterior restoration easier and faster

How Does it Work?
Unique, patented technology
SonicFill’s secret lays in its highly-filled proprietary resin with special modifiers that react to sonic energy applied through the handpiece.
When sonic energy is applied the viscosity drops (up to 84 %), enabling quick placement and precise adaptation to the cavity walls. When the sonic energy is stopped, the composite returns to a more viscous, non-slumping state that is perfect for carving and contouring.
The dramatic reaction to the sonic energy applied through the exclusive KaVo handpiece reduces the viscosity of the Kerr nanohybrid composite up to 84%. This allows great adaptation, for reliable and predictable restorations.
SonicFill 3 transforms tedious, repetitive posterior restorations into an easy and fast Single-Fill placement: filling cavities up to 5mm in depth in a single increment, with a single material – and no liner or capping layer. Ergonomic tips allow easy access to the cavity.
High filler loading (81% by weight). Lower shrinkage stress allows great marginal integrity, minimizing voids and gap in the composite; on top of this excellent mechanical properties, such as excellent wear resistance and high flexural strength, ensure strength and durability over time.
Know Your SonicFill Handpiece
The SonicFill Handpiece is air-driven and connects to dental units using a MULTIflex compatible coupling. The recommended operating pressure range is from 36-50 psi. The dispensing rate is selected by turning the regulating ring at the base of the handpiece. The dispensing rate range 1 through 5 only affects the flow rate of the composite – it does not change the composite viscosity.
Cleaning and Maintenance
The SonicFill Handpiece requires basic maintenance that includes cleaning after each use and a lubrication spray once per week. Automated cleaners, such as the QuattroCare™ can be used or it can be manually cleaned between uses. Automated cleaners from other manufacturers will work as well – see the Handpiece Directions for Use for more information.
